Jurassic Time: The Memoir Of John Parker Hammond
John Hammond, the creator of Jurassic Park, and the safeguard of a Lost World, once wrote a memoir that recalled the rise and fall of a dream almost fulfilled…
Join us, as we take a look at his rare audio recordings, and flip through the pages of his long-lost notes documenting just what really happened on the remote islands off the west coast of Costa Rica…

Experience Richard Attenborough‘s masterful, nearly-lost performance of John Parker Hammond: the tragic man whose dream of bringing dinosaurs back to life came true; before being swiftly ended. Cobbled from the ill-fated ‘Trespasser – The Lost World: Jurassic Park’ PC Game, and featuring amazing music by Bill Brown mixed with an array of sound effects; you’ll feel like you’re right beside Hammond as he makes his journey across Isla Sorna, playing “God” in the laboratory, and recounting how he felt after the fateful incident at Isla Nublar. It’s a compelling and introspective tale you will never find in the novels or films.

The story continues even further with Anne, performed by Minnie Driver: a woman stranded on Isla Sorna after an unfortunate vacation accident. She comes across “Hammond’s Lost Diary,” which features even more of his incredible history with ‘Jurassic Park.’ For the first time, the rest of Hammond’s intended story, as seen in the game’s original script, can be heard.

In this special video presentation, with the immense artistic talents of Felipe Humboldt, Hammond’s words are heard against fantastic sketches that illustrate his entire story! In addition, there are numerous stills from the ‘Jurassic Park’ films as well as a select few from the Jurassic World’ series. Tinted and framed deliberately for dramatic effect, we “spared no expense!”

I didn’t want fans of Richard Attenborough or ‘Jurassic Park’ to miss out on what I believed to be a deeply thoughtful and melancholy look into the mind of the park’s creator: a story not told with this level of personal marred recollection in the novels by Michael Crichton or the films by Steven Spielberg. The game’s audio files of Attenborough’s narration were in a jumbled mess that I had to put in a storytelling order, fitting it as correctly as I could, like pieces of a complex puzzle. Setting it to Bill Brown‘s incredible score from the game was like having Attenborough’s words put to a lovely beat and rhythm to be enjoyed. I eventually added some sound effects, additional tracks, and other enhancements into the mix.

‘Jurassic Time: The Memoir Of John Parker Hammond‘ went through many variations over the years, until this “Definitive Edition” was finally created. I still cannot believe it has been over a decade since I decided to bring Hammond’s buried story to the surface for everyone to enjoy. This final incarnation will hopefully stand the test of time like the very story it tells. It’s something I have been very proud of preserving, and will always hold dear. I hope you enjoy it.

“Thank you so much for this! I really have had no access to this audio for a number of years, outside the game. I had the script, but no good archive of Richard Attenborough’s masterful performance – it’s so terrific to have it back again. And to know at least one person out there really followed it and enjoyed it. Of the writing I’ve done in games, it’s definitely the thing I’m most proud of, and it’s been a touchstone for many years – something I’d go back to remind myself of, the kind of thing I wanted to accomplish in games, or anywhere, as a writer. Thanks again for rescuing this Lost World.” – Austin Grossman, Writer of Trespasser, June, 2007
